Homework

Children of all ages will take work home, including reading, spellings (from Year 1) and the learning of tables and other mathematical work (Year 2 upwards). The taking home of books from the Reading Scheme and books which the children wish to select, read and enjoy with their parents from the libraries in school is actively encouraged. Parental support and participation is very welcome.

More formal work will be given to older junior children, which will include comprehension passages, topic related activities, research and maths exercises. The arrangements for each class are detailed on the Parental Curriculum Information sheets sent out each term.

Homework may also be assigned to individual children when it is felt that a child really needs to make up work through absence, or needs extra practice in a specific area of work, or if the work has not been done satisfactorily in class.
